TPL Outlets & Lights
TPL Outlets & Lights controls supported TP-Link Kasa and Tapo power outlets and light bulbs on your local network.
- Kasa power outlets and light bulbs
- Tapo power outlets and light bulbs
The following devices have been tested:
- KL110, KL120, KL130, L510 and L530 bulbs
- HS100, HS110, KP105, KP115 and P100 outlets
Home Kat Bridge works with original Kasa devices, newer Tapo devices and Kasa devices upgraded to hardware version 4. Other models may also work. Models previously listed as untested include KL50, KL60, KL430, HS107, HS300, KP303, KP200 and KP400; please contact the developer through the website if you try one of these.
Set up TP-Link devices
First use the TP-Link Kasa or Tapo app to set up each device, give it a useful name and connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as Home Kat Bridge.
Open Settings, select TP-Link Bulbs & Outlets and switch Enabled on. Home Kat Bridge searches the local network and sorts devices into these sections:
- Added Devices are already exposed to HomeKit. Press the minus button to remove one.
- Other Devices Discovered on LAN are visible on the local network. Press the plus button to add a supported device.
- Other Devices on Cloud Account (not discovered on LAN) are registered to the account but need information from your cloud account to connect. Check that the device is powered, online and on the same network, and add clound account details (see below) to be able to control it.
Select any row to see its protocol, type, model, firmware, address, reachability and cloud-account status. Bulbs also show the lighting values reported by the device. This information is useful when diagnosing an unsupported or unreachable model.
TP-Link Cloud account
Legacy Kasa devices can usually be controlled without signing in to your cloud account. Tapo devices and devices using the newer KLAP (Kasa v4) protocol require the TP-Link account used in the Kasa or Tapo app.
In the TP-Link Cloud section, select Add TPL Account, enter the account username and password, then select Login. Saved accounts can be selected with the key button. Credentials are stored securely in your private iCloud keychain. You can Logout without deleting the saved credentials, or use Delete Credentials to remove them.
If a discovered device says Cloud account unavailable or Not on cloud account, sign in with the account to which that device is registered. A cloud-only device marked Unreachable still needs to become visible on the local network for normal control.
Use TP-Link outlets and lights
The TPL page groups added accessories into Lightbulbs and Outlets. Tap a tile to switch the device on or off. A dimmed or disconnected tile means that the device is unreachable.
Light-bulb tiles show the brightness and, where supported, the colour or colour temperature. Outlet tiles show their on/off state. Energy-monitoring outlets also show current power in watts and accumulated energy in kilowatt-hours.
In the Home app, outlets work as normal outlet accessories. Depending on the bulb model, HomeKit can also control brightness, colour temperature, hue and saturation. Multi-outlet Kasa devices may appear as a separate outlet accessory for each controllable socket. The Eve app may be used to see energy information.
For Siri commands, give every accessory a distinct name and assign it to the correct room in the Home app. Home Kat Bridge must remain running and on the same network for the accessories to stay available.
Subscription
TPL Outlets & Lights requires a small six-monthly subscription. A one-week trial period is available so you can test it with your devices. In Settings, select TP-Link Bulbs & Outlets, switch it on and select Get TPL Device Support.
